LA Hammam

A small maid's room and bath were gutted and reconfigured into a Moroccan-tiled "His" bathroom in this Hispano-Moresque Revival style home in Los Angeles which dates from the early 1930s.  After many color studies, the tile was custom-fabricated in Morocco based on traditional patterns.  Artisans from Fez (pictured) were flown in by the tile importer for the installation.  The pointed arch motif used in the doorways was duplicated from arches that occur in the original architecture of the house.
